Stardust dragon vs legendary six samurai-Shi En

    Post  isaac879 on Thu May 24, 2012 3:16 pm

Some people at my local store said that stardust can negate shi en's effect to destroy another samurai in its place. I thought that this was wrong because shi en's effect is continuous so cannot be chained to. And stardust needs to be directly chained to the effect that it wants to negate. Am I missing something or am I right?

The effect to negate a spell/trap is a quick effect but the effect to destroy another samurai in its place is a continuous effect. Effects that stop cards from being destroyed like Gachi Gachi gantetsu and maestroke the symphony djinn are continuous and so is Shi En as far as my research has shown.

Correct, the only difference is that Shi En also destroys another monster.

Continuous effect, doesn't start a chain, Stardust cannot negate it.

    Topic solved and locked.
